We know that healthy societies, resilient economies and thriving businesses rely on nature. We can only protect, restore and sustainably manage our natural resources with a joint effort. With this intent, in September 2020 a group of financial institutions from around the globe launched the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge, which Pymwymic recently joined.

The pledge is a calling on global leaders to commit to the protection and restoration of biodiversity through their finance activities and investments. As signatories we will make every effort to take our share of responsibility and agree on effective measures to reverse nature loss to ensure ecosystem resilience in the future.

There is not a settled path on how to deliver, achieve and measure biodiversity goals. That is why it is important to keep the subject in the agenda. It is envisaged that the following steps should be in place by 2024 at the latest:

We invite you to join us in this cause! A new signatory round will be held before the Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD COP15) in September 2021.

If you are curious, you can find more information about the pledge here.
The Pledge, as well as the Guidance document, logo and other materials, can be downloaded here.
