Connecterra and Datamars join forces to accelerate sustainable dairy farming
Pymwymic is pleased to announce that its portfolio company Connecterra has formed a strategic partnership with Datamars, a global leader in livestock identification and management solutions. The partnership will see Connecterra integrate its AI platform with Datamars’ livestock management system, allowing farmers to use both technologies seamlessly.
Connecterra’s solution – Ida – empowers customers across the value chain to make decisions that facilitate more efficient, productive and ultimately sustainable dairy operations. Datamars, a family-owned business with over 30–years’ experience in animal identification and management solutions, has products used by farmers, ranchers, and veterinary professionals worldwide. Through the strategic partnership, Datamars has taken over the sensor business Ida, which will enable its customers access to enhanced insights into their livestock’s behaviour, health, and productivity. The integration of the two technologies will allow farmers to make data-driven decisions on everything from feeding and breeding to health management, ultimately leading to more efficient and sustainable farming practices.
“The market is telling us clearly that there is the need for a digital platform that provides high quality data and insights to enable farmers and enterprises to collaborate digitally. Together with our partnership with Datamars, we will be able to scale rapidly – it’s truly an exciting time for the company and the industry.”
Yasir Khokhar, Connecterra CEO
The investment leverages each company’s strengths to further accelerate the industry’s transition to more sustainable dairy farming by supporting producers who are facing increased pressures to produce more with less environmental impact. Connecterra, which joined Pymwymic’s portfolio in 2020, will remain fully independent and focused on further development of its promising SaaS-based enterprise platform. This platform will, amongst others, enable farmers to track and optimise the GHG emissions of their farm. Pymwymic will continue to hold its stake in Connecterra alongside other existing shareholders such as Cibus, Bril and Kersia.
“We are excited for the potential this partnership unlocks to bring Ida to a wider audience and look forward to continuing to support Connecterra scale its impact through the enterprise platform.”
