Under traditional farming methods, all trees receive the same treatment, resulting in c. 60% of trees within an orchard being treated with chemicals when it is not necessary to do so, and a typical orchard farm being sprayed on average 30x a year. Aurea is a crop intelligence company translating visual information into agronomic interventions in the orchard. Aurea’s technology allows a tree-by-tree approach towards spraying, resulting in better farmer economics as well as significantly reducing harmful (chemical) inputs used in fruit production.
