Fertiliser application is one of the most important decisions in crop production, yet farmers still often rely on estimates or delayed laboratory results to decide how much nitrogen to apply. What matters most is plant-available nitrogen: the fraction immediately available for crop uptake. Measuring this directly in the field is technically challenging, leaving farmers at risk of over-fertilising, increasing costs and nutrient losses, or under-fertilising and sacrificing yields. Stenon addresses this by combining proprietary sensor technology, artificial intelligence and cloud software to measure soil nutrients directly in the field. This gives farmers and agribusinesses real-time, actionable insights to optimise fertiliser use, improve profitability and build healthier, more resilient soils.
