Pymwymic invests in Dimensions Agri Technologies
Pymwymic is thrilled to announce its latest investment in Dimensions Agri Technologies (“DAT”), a Norwegian ag-tech company advancing precision spraying in cereal farming. DAT’s system, EcoPatch, is a retrofit camera and AI device that mounts onto existing sprayers and detects weed patches in real time. This enables farmers to spray only where needed, reducing herbicide use by 45% (on average) whilst maintaining crop performance. The round was co-led by Pymwymic and Nysnø, also including participation from SBGi. The funding will support DAT in scaling EcoPatch through OEM partnerships across a wider geography, accelerating the transition towards more precise and sustainable crop protection.
Conventional weed control in cereals still relies on blanket spraying, applying herbicides across the whole field regardless of real weed pressure. This leads to unnecessary chemical use, resistance build-up and residues in our food system. DAT offers a practical, scalable alternative with EcoPatch, uniquely capable of detecting grass weeds at an early stage in dense cereal canopies, a challenge where existing spot-spraying systems fail. Unlike row-crop solutions that rely on costly hardware and struggle in complex field conditions, DAT’s green-on-green solution enables reliable early weed detection in cereals. Its patch-spraying approach mirrors how weeds naturally grow in clusters, allowing farmers to treat only affected areas, significantly reduce herbicide use and improve yields while limiting crop exposure to chemicals.
“DAT stood out to us as the only commercial solution for early grass-weed detection in cereals, combining AI with decades of agronomic expertise to materially reduce herbicide use and improve farmer economics.’’ Sophie Pickering, Associate Partner Pymwymic
Founded by a Norwegian farming family in 1999, DAT has built its technology over several decades of agronomic data collection, engineering and field validation. Following close collaboration with Adigo Mechatronics, DAT launched commercially in 2022 with Kristian Kaurstad Morthen as CEO. Today, with over 50 systems installed and growing partnerships with distributors and OEMs such as Kverneland, DAT is emerging as a scalable precision-spraying platform for cereals across Northern Europe. The new investor consortium, combining Nysno and SBGi’s strong Norwegian roots with Pymwymic’s deep ag-tech and impact expertise, is well positioned to accelerate OEM partnerships, support the Kverneland rollout and accelerate the number of EcoPatches deployed in the field.
“We’re excited to begin this new chapter with a highly competent group of investors. This will accelerate scaling of our precision-spraying solution – helping farmers produce more with less, while reducing the overall environmental impact.” Kristian Kaurstad Morthen, CEO of DAT
DAT becomes the 14th company in Pymwymic’s Healthy Food Systems Impact Fund II portfolio.

About DAT
DAT is a Norwegian precision farming company which has developed an AI-powered vision system – the EcoPatch. EcoPatch detects weeds within dense cereal canopies and enables targeted patch spraying based on real field conditions. By treating only affected areas rather than whole fields, DAT’s technology reduces herbicide use by around 45% on average, while improving farm economics and supporting more precise, lower-input crop production.
About Pymwymic
Pymwymic has taken a frontrunner role in the transition towards investing with care for both people and planet since 1994. Backed by over 250 individuals, families, entrepreneurs and angel investors and joined by institutional investors, we have launched two Article 9 compliant impact funds. Pymwymic’s Healthy Ecosystems Impact Fund I, closed in 2021, has nine portfolio companies building solutions to preserve and restore our ecosystems. We are currently investing through the Healthy Food Systems Impact Fund II, supporting the change-making entrepreneurs who are transforming our food system from farm to fork.
About Healthy Food Systems Impact Fund II
The Healthy Food Systems Impact Fund II focuses on early-stage AgriFood scale-ups that offer pioneering solutions in areas like sustainable farming, food waste reduction, and regenerative agriculture. With six companies already in its portfolio, the fund is well-positioned to invest in innovative companies that are set to drive the future of food. By uniting diverse stakeholders under a shared mission, the fund aims to accelerate the transition toward a food system that is both more sustainable and healthier for people and the planet. The combined efforts of this investor coalition will help bring these innovations to market faster, creating positive, lasting impact.
