Pymwymic joins BiocSol’s Seed round to transform sustainable crop protection

Pymwymic is pleased to support BiocSol in its mission to provide farmers with sustainable crop protection solutions that preserve both soil and crop health. Pymwymic is joining existing investors AIF, VIVES IUF, Invest.BW, and IMBC Spinnova SA which closed the seed round in November 2024. The funding will enable BiocSol to grow its team, advance its R&D pipeline, and initiate the regulatory process for its innovative biofungicides.

Farmers are facing growing challenges to protect their crops due to rising pest resistance, the impacts of climate change and the phase-out of chemical alternatives. BiocSol was launched to empower farmers with efficient and sustainable ways to protect their crops while preserving the soil as well as human health. Following a decade of research at Université catholique de Louvain, the company has developed a cutting-edge approach to plant protection to fight against mildew agents affecting major crops like potatoes, vegetables, and grapes.

“We are thrilled to welcome Pymwymic as an investor in BiocSol. Their support will accelerate our growth and empower us to integrate impact into our everyday, ensuring that our path remains relevant and transformative. We look forward to achieving even greater milestones together.”

Denis Payen, newly appointed CEO BiocSol

Founder Simon Caulier, started his research with the belief that there is a need to transform crop protection by adding more nature-positive solutions. Together with CEO Denis Payer, Simon and his team are committed to providing farmers with efficient and affordable agricultural solutions in the face of climate change, preserving both the environment and biodiversity. BiocSol is now at a pivotal stage, preparing to register its first products and ready to expand its team.

“We believe BiocSol can play a key role in the future of sustainable agriculture and are excited to work with the founders and key industry experts involved in BiocSol.”

Pieter Vis, Managing Partner Pymwymic

The round extension is coupled with the announcement BiocSol will receive non-dilutive financing from the Walloon Region via the Win4company program, bringing the total investment in BiocSol since its inception to almost €9.5M. Together with this grant, BiocSol and its co-investors aim to contribute to widespread adoption of biological crop protection and contribute to a resilient food system – with healthy soils and healthy crops. BiocSol is the tenth company to join Pymwymic’s Healthy Food Systems Impact Fund II.
