Gowan Company acquires Ceradis
Pymwymic is proud to share the acquisition of portfolio company Ceradis by Gowan, marking the fourth exit for Pymwymic’s Healthy Ecosystems Impact Fund I. As part of the Gowan Group, Ceradis is set to scale its biocontrol and bio-mineral technologies globally, bringing farmers smarter, low-residue solutions for sustainable disease management.
Founded in the Netherlands in 2005, Ceradis’ mission is to enable the transition to safer, more sustainable agriculture by reducing the environmental footprint of crop protection. The company develops innovative, patented products that either replace or reduce chemical pesticides, helping farmers meet stricter residue regulations while maintaining yield and quality. Its unique bio-mineral technologies work synergistically with conventional inputs, enabling practical, integrated disease management for growers.
Gowan’s acquisition of Ceradis is a strategic step to expand its global presence across Europe and the US and respond to the growing global demand for sustainable crop protection solutions. As regulations tighten, resistance grows, and pressure mounts to reduce chemical use, Ceradis offers exactly the kind of innovation Gowan needs: bio-mineral and biocontrol technologies that complement conventional tools, provide farmers with practical low-residue solutions, and help preserve long-term efficacy in the field.
“Joining Gowan marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Ceradis. Gowan shares our deep commitment to innovation, sustainability, and providing growers with practical, science-driven solutions. Together, we will expand the reach of our biocontrol offerings, accelerating the adoption of more sustainable disease management strategies worldwide”
WILLEM-JAN MEULEMEESTERS, CEO OF CERADIS
Having joined Pymwymic’s portfolio in 2019, Ceradis has grown from a research-driven venture into a category-leading player in its field, with international partnerships and a pipeline of market-ready products. This acquisition is a testament to the strength of Ceradis’ team, the distinctiveness of its technology, and the growing market demand for cleaner, safer alternatives in crop protection.
“Ceradis has turned science into real sustainability for farmers. We’ve proudly supported their mission since 2019, and we’re confident Gowan is the right partner to scale it globally.”
